Kai Presents at YouMares 14

With the 14th YouMares Conference for young marine researchers due to take place in Hamburg in May 2024, it was a true honour for our own young marine scientist, Liberty to be asked to present at the pre- conference session on 12 December.

As one of two speakers, Liberty gave some great insights into the role of science communication in large scale monitoring projects. As an organisation committed to combining the best of local knowledge and global technology, the role of communication is something Kai feels very strongly about. Clearly, the technology already in existence enables a incredibly granular level of monitoring. However, it takes the involvement of local stakeholders to ensure the right questions are being answered in the first place.

We look forward to hearing more from Liberty and to putting these views into practice as we seek funding for a feasibility study, developing a stakeholder led approach in the South West of England.
